Overview

”Dokkaebi” is one of the most popular Korean dramas; it was first aired on December 2nd, 2016, in South Korea. The English name of this drama is ”Goblin: The Lonely and Great God”.
What is the storyline of the drama? In ancient times, Kim Shin was an unbeatable war admiral, but due to the greed of the young king’s advisor, he was sentenced to die. After his death, Kim Shin becomes a Dokkaebi and becomes a protector for 900 years for his human bride to end his life…

This drama is the story of a beautiful and sorrowful love story and a strong friendship.

Description

Dokkaebi (도깨비) is a mythical being in Korean Fairy Tales. It represents a grotesque-looking ogre or goblin.
Dokkebi’s are not formed after a human dies, but rather by the transformation of an inanimate object. They usually are ugly troll-type creatures with horns and distorted faces. Some Dokkaebi can only be sensed as certain sounds, such as the trotting of horses’ hooves. They transform into a grotesque and frightening goblin at night. Dokkebi’s are supposed to trick bad people and reward the good ones.

Our guide will meet you at your hotel and then head to the shooting location. We will have a walk at Cheongna Lake Park, where Kim Shin got drunk and revealed his secrets to Ji Eun Tak while walking across the park.

Jayu Park, also known as Freedom Park, has held its name ever since October 3, 1957, when a statue of General MacArthur, who led the Incheon Amphibious Landing Operation during the Korean War, was erected at the summit of Mt. Eungbongsan. This is Korea’s first Western-style green space. Visitors can enjoy the views of downtown, the surrounding mountains, harbor facilities, and the beautiful ocean of Incheon. In Episode 9, Ji Eun-Tak accidentally summons Kim Shin here.

The Hanmi bookstore is the Goblin’s favorite place to be, he is seen a few times reading books and looking melancholic and handsome. it is also the place where Samshin tells him that he needs to die as his time has finally come after being a Guardian for many years.

It’s time to have lunch (own expense), we can visit the Incheon Chinatown, the famous food is Korean style Jajangmyeon (Noodles in black bean sauce).

*Please let our guide know if you want to have lunch in another restaurant.

Sinchon Graffiti Tunnel is as iconic as the two handsome characters crossing it. The Grim Reaper and the Goblin head out to buy scallions and decide to recreate the moment when they saved Ji Eun Tak from the two loan sharks. They walk through the Sinchon Graffiti Tunnel looking charismatic with a cool BGM, and just when you think the scene is similar to the first one, a motorcyclist appears and yells at them for walking in the middle of the way, changing the mood of the scene.  This is one of the reasons for the show’s popularity: a very deep and sad story balanced with the perfect dose of comedy.

Deoksugung Palace is located in the middle of Seoul. This is famous for its elegant stone-wall road, about 900 meters long. There are numerous traditional and modern structures along the way. This stone wall road is the place where Kim Shin and Ji Eun Tak first encounter.

*Deoksugung Palace entrance fees are not included.

*The Deoksugung Palace stone wall road may be removed depending on traffic.

Do you remember Ji Eun Tak’s school? It is a real school – Jungang High School. It holds historical significance because it was designed by Korea’s first modern architects.

*Jungang High School is not open during the weekdays.

And then we will visit the Olive Chicken BBQ restaurant, where Ji Eun Tak worked as a part-timer.

*Jung-no branch

Before we go back to the hotel, we will pass by the Yongdap Station Bridge, located on Seoul Subway Line 2, which has appeared in many notable scenes, like the one in which Sunny and the Grim Reaper first encounter.

My friend and I were searching for a customized private KDrama Tour online when we saw One Day Korea Tour offering a private one with our designated places. It was a bit pricey but it’s already given the fact that it’s just the two of us. So yeah, I guess you could say for us it’s worth it. Exchanged emails and requested for this and that, voila, they agreed to the places we want to go.

Jay is our tour guide and he is amazing I would recommend him with my friends. Really nice person and we enjoyed our tour so much!

We went on the Goblin Filming Site Tour. Our guide Jay was amazing, taking photos of us at all the stops, and reminding us of where they were in the drama by showing us clips before we got out of the car. He played us tracks from the OST to keep us in the Goblin spirit too. He was very knowledgeable about the drama itself and spoke English very well. Very funny, very personable, and would do another tour with him in a heartbeat! Thanks for a wonderful day!

Jay was our tour guide for the Goblin Tour and he made it a great day! My adult daughter and I visited my daughter who lives in Korea. Because we watch K-Dramas, this was a tour we were very interested in. Jay had a good command of the English language and he watched the Goblin drama, so he knew what the sights we visited meant. He even showed us video clips of the scene where we were seeing it in person! Jay knew we liked K-Pop and we played & talked about music. Thanks for including a stop at the YG building! Thanks for making our day a special one to remember with pictures and G-Dragon socks! You are the best!

Just got back from our tour and had a really great time! Our guide Jay was the best! He was prepared and was always ready to answer any question. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 for Jay! Will definitely do another tour the next time we’re in Korea.

My friends and I booked the Goblin tour over a week ago and we are still raving about it. Brian and Jay kept us entertained and were very gracious in allowing us to enjoy each location and reminisce the scenes from the drama too. Jay was also a very good sport on being a part-time Kim Shin stand-in for the photos too. We would’ve wanted to visit more locations although we’ve already seen more than what was in the itinerary but we ran out of time. Overall, it remains to be the highlight of our quick Seoul trip and we’d highly recommend it to any Goblin fan visiting the city.

as a big fan of Korean drama(especially the Goblin) it was the greatest tour ever!
I wouldn’t have been able to visit that many filiming locations just for one day if it wasn’t for this tour. I feel so lucky they have the goblin tour and Tour guide Brian
The Tour guide Brian prepared a lot for the Goblin tour I could feel it all the time during our tour.
He even took pictures of us in every single filiming location and sent it to us through E-mail on the same day.
it is a shame that I stayed in Korea only for five days thistime.

  8. Jhanice M –

The whole tour felt like we were in the drama itself. Every place we visited helped us recall the scenes from the drama. Bryan was also helpful in helping us recall those scenes by showing us the scenes by showing us each episode from his tablet before we arrive at every location. We were delighted the whole tour. We will definitely book with you soon. Keep up the good work!

First off all, My tour guide Brian is the best tour guide you’ll ever get for this tour. 5 stars are not enough for him. 10 stars maybe? =) He converse very well in English and he knows very well what he is doing. Like he is the location manager of the Goblin Drama series because he knows it very well. If you will take this tour, ask for Brian as your tour guide and you will not regret it.

  10. Shawon G –

I’d give our tour guide (Brian) and driver (Smith) 10 stars if I could ^-^

  11. rmagpantay –

Great Goblin tour, our guide Brian is very efficient, he is well equipped with video snap shots of the places for guests
to recognize the shooting places. The tour is on time and you feel safe with driver’s driving skills.
